Puerh 3 years.
According to Wikipedia the word aging means, "to leave a product, for a period of time (months or years), to help it improve its flavor over time." Precisely what describes our NEW family member: the Puerh process. That's right, I finally found a spectacular one to add to our offer!
Our Puerh is a black tea aged for 3 years from the province of Yunnan, China. It grows at altitudes of 1500 to 4900 feet above sea level. Contains a high level of antioxidants and caffeine, suitable for people following Kosher, Vegetarian and Vegan. Produces a bright, Intense Red cup. Just by seeing its infusion, you will understand why in China, this process is called Red Tea.
Contrary to the other processes, where 2 to 3 tender leaves are used, for this one more mature leaves are added. Once fermented, the best ones are carefully chosen, which are then aged in large cellars, similar to those of wine in France or cheese in Switzerland.
The result of this young Puerh surprised me, as it is extremely sweet (brown sugar, honey, vanilla), with spicy notes (pepper, ginger), with a long, clean and very pleasant aftertaste.
